Just a quick update…
Its 1am and the bunnies are exploring! I don’t know what to do with them. They were fed only an hour and a half ago and 3 out of the 4 had a decent serving, surely they cant want more milk already?? Maybe they are not cosy enough anymore. As you might have read on yesterdays update I had been on the mothers old cage and taken more of the fur she had pulled out (almost all what was left) and made the bunnies a new nest, Needless to say they absolutely loved it and seemed to sleep so well after feedings in it but only 1 day later the nest was soaked with pee from the bunnies and the nest ruined. I’m not sure what the suggested course of action is when babies pee in the nest but we have tried to clean up what wet hay we could and replace with new hay. This has obviously reduced the amount of mother fur in the nest.
Bunny F seems the most active this evening and he’s in and out of that nest loads, I’m just a little worried that if he continues he may get cold and I also dont want him to loose his way in the night like one of the previous bunnies that has since passed away. I guess all I can do is try to give them a little more milk see if thats what they are after if that doesn’t work I’m not sure how to calm them down, we’re pretty much all out of mothers fur so I am going to see if we can trim a little off her while a stroke her tomorrow all being well (I’ll let you all know how that goes…) Sara has ordered her new milk not quite sure what deal she managed to pick up but its definitely the KMR stuff and I’ll let you know how that goes down with the rabbits and if its successful I’ll pass on any links I have on where to get it.
That’s It for now
